Hampton Crime Line

On Wednesday, April 07, 2004, at approximately 12:21 am, Hampton Police Officers were dispatched to a shooting complaint in the 200 block of Lantana Lane. When officers arrived, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Paramedics responded and transported one victim to Sentara Hampton CarePlex where he was pronounced dead. He is identified as Christopher B. Weaver, a 22-year-old male who resided in the 200 block of Lantana Lane. The second victim was transported by paramedics to Riverside Regional Hospital where he is being treated for his wounds. His identity is not being released as the investigation continues. The preliminary investigation reveals that two unknown suspects knocked at the door of the victim’s condominium. Once inside, the suspects shot the two victims. Suspect information is unknown at this time however; witnesses are being interviewed by Hampton detectives. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
